One MRT234 and one T187 deployed for highly-visible business district project
Official Raimondi Cranes agent of Italy for the province of Milan, Monza and Brianza, Assistedile Srl, has deployed two Raimondi flat-top tower cranes for the construction of a major hospitality project in one of the city’s most dynamic districts.
Owned by Fondazione Fiera Milano and situated in a prime area of Milan’s modern business district, Hotel Scarampo is planned to feature 260 rooms, alongside commercial and leisure spaces.
“It is rewarding to build on our company legacy of contributing to Milan’s most significant developments by deploying two Raimondi cranes from our fleet, specifically one flat-top T187 and one MRT234,” said Luciano Friso. The General Director of Assistedile highlighted that the company is currently active on 82 medium to large-scale projects across Italy.

“This site holds particular meaning, as it rises alongside another landmark project, the BFF Bank headquarters. Completed in 2024, that development was also built with the support of Raimondi flat-tops,” Friso added.
Rented for approximately 18 additional months, both cranes are installed on embedded elements. The first machine, an MRT234-12tn, was installed in January 2025 and it is currently freestanding at 102 meters height with a jib length of 55m and a hoist of 55kW, lifting at a maximum speed of 120m/min.
The second, a new Raimondi T187, was installed in June 2025 and initially configured with 55m jib length, freestanding at 90.5m. Based on site progression, the 8tn-T187 will be climbed to reach the final height of 115 meters via anchoring systems.
Due to the jobsite’s congested location, logistics and planning presented key challenges for Assistedile’s operations team. “Given the tight site layout and limited working area, positioning and erecting each crane required careful coordination and precision planning,” explained Friso.

Both cranes were selected for their speed and maximum lifting capacities. The MRT234 offers extensive configuration flexibility to adapt to varying project needs, the T187’s optimized design and streamlined assembly process, ensures fast and efficient installation procedures.
“The versatility in terms of tower and jib configurations of the MRT234, coupled with the weight-optimized components, ease of commissioning, and performance of the T187, were key features we considered for this site,” Friso concluded.
The first flat-top is expected to remain in operation until Q4 of 2026, while the T187 will be dismantled earlier as the structural works reach completion.
With a rental fleet of 110 cranes, including several new models from the T Series, Assistedile is actively renewing its equipment portfolio as part of an ongoing fleet rejuvenation strategy.
