Raimondi Cranes, a heritage European manufacturer of intelligently designed heavy lifting machinery, recently saw seven of its team members earn a significant international certification highly relevant to the crane sector.

The company, with safety and quality metrics spearheading its wider manufacturing agenda, continues to build its employee upskilling directives. Employees from the company’s welding arm took part in an advanced training seminar at Raimondi headquarters in Arluno, Italy.

The training, with additional learnings on industry standards of skill, technique, and compliance, was structured to qualify welders to perform specific procedures, pursuant to the UNI EN ISO 9606-1 norm.

Participants were trained and tested on two key specific welding procedures: continuous wire welding and manual electrode welding. The course concluded with a rigorous examination conducted by an accredited welding inspector from the Italian Institute of Welding (IIS). The exam included a series of tests to assess each welder’s proficiency, from visual inspections to destructive testing to verify integrity of the completed welds.

After successfully completing the course exam, each participant received an official certification with a validity of a three-year period. The certification affirms a participant’s capabilities when performing high-quality welds on materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminium.
