Industry mainstay Walls Construction deploys first Raimondi T577 flat-top tower cranes for one of the region’s largest mixed-use developments. Supplied by Raimondi’s official agent in Ireland, the 24t-capacity cranes are currently the heaviest lifters in its fleet.

Leading building contractor,Walls Construction, has deployed five Raimondi tower cranes for the development of a major mixed-use project in Dublin, Ireland.

Supplied by Irish Crane & Lifting, official Raimondi dealer in Ireland for more than two decades, three new T577 flat-tops and two MRT294 tower cranes are now onsite, supporting the construction of a key urban project.

“For over 10 years, we have been working alongside Walls Construction on some of the country’s most significant developments, including College Square, Grand Canal Harbour, and Rathborne Wharf,” stated Robert Coffey, Director, Irish Crane & Lifting. “The rental of these five machines, including three cranes with the heaviest lifting capacity in our portfolio, represents another important milestone in our many-years collaboration,” Coffey affirmed, referring to the T577’s lifting capacity of 24t.

Installed in three phases by the Irish Crane operations team between Q4 2025 and Q3 2026, the five cranes were progressively erected across the project.

Selected to support the project extensive precast installation works, the three T577-24t flat-tops are operating at heights ranging between 48m and 61m, with 50m jibs and a tip load of 12.38t in UltraLift mode.

“The T577s were selected for their exceptional tip loads, optimised load charts and ease of commissioning, making the cranes particularly well suited to the project’s demanding lifting requirements,” Coffey explained. With the ability to lift elements weighing up to 10t at the jib tip, the T577s provide the capacity and reach required for the job while supporting efficient site operations throughout the multi-phase development.

Equipped with an 110kW hoisting gear, lifting at a maximum speed of 110 meters per minute (m/min) and having a drum capacity of 1,030m, the Raimondi T577 provides the power, speed and lifting performance required to meet the project’s operational requirements and strict timeline.

The MRT294-16t  onsite are configured with 40m jibs and heights of 38m and 40m.

Southwest Gate in Dublin 12, is a landmark mixed-used development being delivered by O’Flynn Group in partnership with the Land Development Agency. On completion it will provide retail and commercial spaces, along with more than 1,100 new homes, making it one of the largest single residential schemes completed in Ireland’s capital city.
