Exclusive Raimondi Cranes agent Strictly Cranes, has sold two new Raimondi LRH174 hydraulic luffing jib cranes to leading Australian developer-builder ALAND.
“We are proud to support ALAND with the two new LRH174s, bringing its fleet of Raimondi cranes to seven models,” stated Ramey Alkhoshaibi, Founder and Commercial Director, Strictly Cranes. Alkhoshaibi noted that this is the first LRH174 sold to ALAND, building out its range of luffers.
Deployed over August and September 2023, the two cranes are supporting the construction of Archibald towers. Located in the waterfront city of Gosford, in the northern end of Brisbane, the latest high-rise mixed-use development will feature 323 residential apartments and penthouses, a 130-room hotel, and multiple food and beverage outlets.
“The LRH174, compared to a traditional electric winch and cable model, is seamlessly installed with the jib fully assembled at ground level in a single lift. It has smoother and speedy movements, along with greater lifting performances and enhanced safety,” Alkhoshaibi said. He further highlighted “the advantage of utilizing hydraulic luffers in sites of this nature, where high winds may occur, is represented by the hydraulic piston system directly blocking the jib, contrary to conventional luffing which ensures greater level of safety.”
The LRH174s, with a maximum lifting capacity of 10t, were erected by Strictly Cranes operations team at a freestanding height of 84.5m and jib length of 45m, clocking at 13.8m when out of service. Equipped with a 45kW hoisting gear and a drum capacity of 600m, the hydraulic luffers can lift at a maximum speed of 190m/min.
“This was our first time installing the Raimondi LRH174, therefore, all the planning was done closely with ALAND team, engineers, and mobile crane subcontractor. From the initial assessments to the final installation, the careful evaluation was integral to the install process.” he affirmed. The first LRH174 also played a role in the installation of the second model onsite.
The Strictly Cranes operations team will be performing monthly onsite maintenance, and as part of the overall after sales care package, will execute the external jumping procedure to enable one of the two cranes to reach its final height of 115 meters. Both LRH174s will remain onsite for approximately 18 months until completion of the project.
