Klančar Cranes erects one Raimondi MRT111 and one MRT186 on the jobsite of a new contemporary art museum in Slovenia
Klančar Cranes, Slovenian specialist in the supply of heavy lifting equipment, installed two Raimondi topless tower cranes for the development of Lah Contemporary Museum. One Raimondi MRT111 and one MRT186 were installed on the project site by the company’s team, with one scheduled for dismantle by the end of the year, and the second scheduled to be onsite until approximately March 2023.
Lifting capacities were considered in model choice, explained Urban Vidmar, Director of Technical Solutions and Procurement, Klančar Cranes. “Due the jobsite location and the surrounding terrain, it was essential to supply cranes that were adapted to the tall trees surrounding the site.”
The MRT111 remains one of Raimondi’s most popular models thanks to its versatility in tower height and its high performances in terms of maximum load and hoist speed. The 8t machine was installed first by the Klančar Cranes operations team and is currently at 48m height with a jib length of 54m and tip load of 1.92t. The MRT186-10t is at a height of 33m, and presents a jib length of 56m and a tip load of 2.55t.
“We are currently seeing a large volume of investment from both the public and private sectors in national infrastructure, and residential developments. Consequently, there is a growing demand for tower cranes,” Vidmar said. He highlighted that the jobsite was one of many that the company has been engaged to participate in regionally.
One of Slovenia’s most scenic locales, Bled is in the foothills of the Julian Alps, and along Lake Bled. The new museum is situated at the foot of 11th century Castle Bled, in cultural and historical designated protected zone, near the Austrian border. Upon completion, the Foundation will feature works by world-renowned artists including pieces by the museum’s founder.
